Le 500 più belle canzoni di sempre: da 301 a 400

Rolling Stone, la storica rivista americana di musica e cultura giovanile, nel 2004 ha stilato una classifica davvero impegnativa, quella delle 500 più belle canzoni di tutti i tempi nel periodo che va dalla metà degli anni Cinquanta in poi. Appare evidente come non si possa redigere una classifica ‘assoluta’, tenendo conto tutta la produzione uscita tra gli albori del Rock’n’Roll fino al giorno d’oggi, per svariati motivi: il gusto del pubblico che cambia negli anni, il gusto personale degli estensori della classifica, la difficolta – in alcuni casi – di comparare equamente tra loro due brani magari di epoche diverse, magari di generi diversi (tra Rock, Pop, Beat, Soul, Disco, Blues, Folk, Rock’n’Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Hip-Hop). E molti che la consulteranno, o l’hanno già fatto, con molta probabilità non condivideranno fino in fondo le scelte di Rolling Stone; ma in effetti si tratta di un gioco e la classifica stilata da una rivista autorevole com’è Rolling Stone ha i crismi per essere (forse) la più attendibile. Attenzione, una delle critiche mosse, è che la classifica è dominata dall’universo musicale anglosassone (Usa e Gran Bretagna), con particolare attenzione agli anni Sessanta e Settanta, per cui non ci troverete una sola canzone italiana, ma neppure francese o di altre nazionalità. Così noi di Digital Video questa classifica la riprendiamo e ve la proponiamo in cinque puntate, partendo dalle posizioni tra il 401 e 500 e così via fino a svelare le prime cento posizioni alla fine di questo piacevole percorso.
